The George Washington Colonials led the Xavier Musketeers 34-31 at halftime and it looked like the Colonials could potentially pull the upset, but Xavier was able to rally back in the second half and pull out the victory. Xavier originally took the lead on a pair of free throws by Tu Holloway midway through the second half. George Washington took back the lead late in the game, but Holloway struck again sinking two shots late in the game including the game winner.
Holloway ended the game with 21 points and 6 rebounds with 7 assists. For George Washington Tony Taylor, who missed some late shots, finished the game with 20 points and 4 rebounds with 5 assists. Lasan Kromah finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Nemanja Mikic finished up the game with 19 points.

The George Washington Colonials have struggled to put together successive wins in the 2011-2012 season, but are hosting an inconsistent Xavier Musketeers team that has lost two of their last three games. George Washington was able to take advantage in the first half, jumping out to an early lead over Xavier and holding a 34-31 lead at halftime.
Only guard Tu Holliday for Xavier has score over five points, heading into halftime with nine points with three rebounds and three assists. For George Washington, Nemanja Mikic leads the way in scoring with 13 points while Lasan Kromah has picked up seven points with seven rebounds and three assists. Guard Tony Taylor also added another 10 points as the Colonials hope to hold onto their small lead and pull the upset against Xavier.
