UMass Vs. George Washington Final Score: Colonials Fall, 86-75

Given a second chance to come up with a home upset in Atlantic 10 play, George Washington came up short once again, falling, 86-75, to Massachusetts in Foggy Bottom. The Colonials fall to 3-6 in Atlantic 10 play and 8-15 overall after the defeat.

George Washington was far less competitive in this one than on Wednesday, when the Colonials pushed Xavier to the wire before falling in the final seconds. In this game, the Minutemen slowly pulled away, keeping the Colonials at arm's length throughout the contest.

Terrell Vinson had 21 points to lead UMass. Tony Tayler scored 26 points in a losing effort for the Colonials, playing all but one minute in the contest.

George Washington Vs. UMass: Colonials Look To Hand Minutemen Second Straight Loss

George Washington's 2011-12 season has been a disappointment, but the Colonials will still have chances to play spoiler as the Atlantic 10 season gears up for its second half. One such chance will come Saturday when they host a Massachusetts team that just fell out of a three-way tie for first place with a loss to Rhode Island earlier in the week. The game will tip off at 7 p.m.

The Colonials nearly took advantage of a chance to play spoiler last Wednesday, taking Xavier down to the wire at home. However, two Tu Holloway free throws late ended the Colonials' upset bid and led to a 59-58 loss.

The game will be televised on CSN+ and News Channel 8 locally.
