The Georgetown Hoyas held serve -- barely -- against two bottom-feeders on the road, and moved up slightly in the AP Top 25 poll for their efforts. Georgetown was ranked 21st in the poll this week, compared to 22nd in the poll last week. This happened after a week that culminated in a tight road victory over lowly Seton Hall.
Georgetown is the sixth team listed in the poll, behind Pittsburgh (2), Connecticut (5), Villanova (8), Syracuse (10) and Notre Dame (15). Louisville is ranked below Georgetown, coming in at 23. Cincinnati and West Virginia also received votes.
No other local team received any votes, not even George Mason, who got big wins against Drexel and James Madison. Virginia Tech, which is semi-local, received eight votes, but did not make the Top 25.
