2011 NCAA Tournament: Chris Wright Will Start For Georgetown Vs. VCU

Stay connected for news and updates

We learned earlier today that he was likely to be in uniform tonight. Now we know that Chris Wright will be in the starting lineup for the Georgetown Hoyas in their second round NCAA Tournament game against the Va Commonwealth Rams tonight. The news was first reported by Stewart Mandel of Sports Illustrated.

Wright hasn't played since Feb. 23, suffering an injury in the Hoyas' 58-46 loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Prior to the injury, the senior point guard from Bowie, MD was averaging 13.1 points and 5.4 assists per game. Wright is a critical member of the Hoyas on both ends of the court, so much so that they have not won a single game since he was forced out with a hand injury.

Before Wright's injury, Georgetown had a record of 21-6 and looked like one of the top teams in the country heading into the Big East Tournament. Can they regain that form with him back in the lineup? We'll find out soon.
