The Georgetown Hoyas return to the court on Saturday when they host American University in a local DC matchup.
The DMV area gets a local matchup this Saturday when the Georgetown Hoyas host the American Eagles at noon at the Verizon Center.
The Hoyas have won six straight, but by Saturday it will have been a week since they last took the court. The team most recently played on Dec. 15 when they beat Western Carolina, 81-68, and have struggled at times against inferior competition.
American (4-7) has lost three out of four games, with the lone win coming in double overtime over Maryland Baltimore-County. Stephen Lumpkins paces the Eagles with 15.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per night.
American most recently lost to Hampton to start a tough three-game road swing. After facing Georgetown, the Eagles will travel to Lawrence to face the Kansas Jayhawks.
Game Date/Time: Saturday, Dec. 22, 12 p.m.
