Georgetown Vs. Seton Hall Recap: Hoyas Blown Out By Hot-Shooting Pirates

The Georgetown Hoyas' offense went quiet against a hot-shooting upset-minded conference foe on Tuesday night as the Seton Hall Pirates cruised to a 73-55 win in Newark. Georgetown did not score for a four minute stretch as the Pirates extended their ten point lead to 18 and effectively sealed the win. Freshman Greg Whittington led the Hoyas with nine points off the bench. John Thompson's club failed to put a player in double figures, however, as the Pirates turned up the defensive pressure in a game they needed to have.

It was a statement win for Seton Hall, which is looking to play its way off the bubble with their second win of the season against a top ten team. Senior Jordan Theodore led the Pirates with 29 points, drilling five of five attempts from behind the arc and lighting up the Hoyas backcourt. Theodore was also a perfect eight for eight from the charity stripe. As a team, the Pirates simply could not miss, shooting 61 percent from the field as they comfortably salted this one away over the final ten minutes.

Georgetown now hosts Villanova at the Verizon Center on Saturday afternoon, looking to bounce back as they try to position for a double bye in the Big East tourney.
