The final 2012 Big East basketball standings are out, and Georgetown's loss to Marquette on Saturday proved costly. The defeat put the Hoyas in a three-way tie for fourth place in the conference with Cincinnati and South Florida, and the Bearcats earned the tiebreaker on account of a better record against Seton Hall, the highest-finishing team against which Georgetown and Cincinnati had different records. That allowed the Bearcats to earn the final double-bye in the 2012 Big East Tournament.
