Big East Tournament 2012 Final Score: Georgetown Rolls Over Pitt In Second Half, 64-52

The Georgetown Hoyas held a 31-23 lead over the Pittsburgh Panthers at halftime as the Hoyas were looking to advance out of the first round of the Big East Tournament as a No. 5 seed. Taking their eight point lead into the second half, the Hoyas proceed to blow the doors off of Pitt so badly in the second half, the Pitt players looked like they completely had given up and were just jogging around the court as Georgetown coasted to and easy 64-52 win.

Hoya's center Henry Sims ended the afternoon picking up 20 points and 13 rebounds, picking up a double-double in the victory for Georgetown. Otto Potter also picked up 20 points for the Hoyas and added 5 rebounds while Greg Whittington added 11 points and 6 rebounds from the bench.

For the Panthers, Ashton Gibbs led the way in scoring with just 14 points as he hit on just two of his eight three-point shot attempts. Pitt as a whole shot woefully from the floor, including just 23.8 percent from three-point land and were out rebounded 33-22. The Hoyas advance to the next round to take on the No. 4 seed Cincinnati on Thursday, Match 8 at 2 p.m.
