Stephen Domingo Expected To Play For Georgetown Basketball In 2012, According To Report

Georgetown basketball will be getting a key recruit a season early, as Stephen Domingo, a 6-8 forward who should be entering his senior season of high school at St. Ignatius in California, will enroll early:

Domingo is a Top 50 player for the 2013 class, and will now join the Hoyas at just 17 years old, having amassed enough credits to graduate high school. There's some symmetry here for the Hoyas, as Domingo's early enrollment will mirror what Hollis Thompson did his freshman year, and Domingo is considered a viable replacement for the departed Thompson's three-point skill.

Devonta Pollard Chooses Alabama Over Georgetown

The Georgetown Hoyas lost out on forward Devonta Pollard on Friday night, as the top 50 recruit from Mississippi decided to stay down south in the SEC and play for Anthony Grant at Alabama. The Hoyas have significant depth along the front line, both returning and incoming in the 2012 recruiting class. Yet adding Pollard would have been a huge late addition. Here's what SB Nation's Georgetown Blog, Casual Hoya had to say about missing out on Pollard:

Despite Pollard's announcement theatrics, his decision today to remain in the South shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Though Pollard enjoyed his official visit to Georgetown, after former Hoyas assistant coach and lead Pollard recruiter Robert Kirby bolted to LSU not many close to Georgetown's program had high hopes for his commitment. Though the decision does make you wonder a little bit whether Pollard was indeed leaning towards heading to the Hilltop before Kirby's departure, Georgetown's depth at the forward position makes this loss easier to swallow.

Georgetown now moves forward with a class of Bradley Hayes and Brandon Bolden, who are both 6'10 or taller, and guard D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera.

Georgetown Basketball Recruiting: Devonta Pollard To Announce Decision Tonight

With one scholarship left to offer, the Georgetown Hoyas could wrap up the 2012 recruiting class as small forward Devonta Pollard is expected to make his decision at 6 p.m. tonight, according to ESPN recruiting expert Dave Telep.

Pollard is a five-star, 6'7'' small forward from Mississippi. He is expected to choose between Georgetown, Texas, Missouri and Alabama. Casual Hoya has the lowdown on Pollard's recruiting situation:

Pollard enjoyed his visit to Georgetown last month and after Missouri filled its remaining scholarships with transfers Alex Oriakhi and Jordan Clarkson, it was widely expected that Pollard was down to Georgetown or Alabama. However, after former assistant coach Robert Kirby bolted Georgetown for LSU, not many close to the program have had high hopes for his commitment and he seems a likely Alabama lean. Then again, what the hell do we know.

Bradley Hayes, a 6'11'' center from Florida, was Georgetown's most recent commitment.

Georgetown Basketball Recruiting: Bradley 'B.J.' Hayes Signs With The Hoyas, According To Report

The Georgetown Hoyas have signed a big man for their program according to reports. Bradley 'B.J.' Hayes, a 6'11" center from Sandalwood, Fla has reportedly signed a national letter of intent with Georgetown according to Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com.

This signing for Georgetown gives the Hoyas possibly the next great center in college basketball. Hayes talked to Zagoria back in April as to why he had the Hoyas as one of his last four schools, including Florida, Connecticut and Texas A&M.

I like their offense. They allow their big man to not just be a regular five but he can step out and shoot. I can hit the shot to 15 feet.

Hayes may be in the perfect system for his natural gifts and Georgetown should be thrilled to have him on the roster.

Georgetown Basketball Recruiting: Devonta Pollard Puts Off College Decision, According To Report

Devonta Pollard was supposed to announce his college decision this weekend. Unfortunately, it appears that he has delayed his decision even further down the line according to a post by Adam Zagoria on Zagsblog.com.

The 6-8 Pollard out of Mississippi was supposed to announce by today, but that plan appears to be out the window.

Pollard is considering the Georgetown Hoyas, but is also considering the Missouri Tigers, Texas Longhorns and Alabama Crimson Tide. The deadline for the late signing period for college basketball players is May 16. After this sudden delay, there appears to be no timetable for Pollard's announcement.

"The mother is going to send the thing out," Porterville (Miss.) Kemper County coach Kelvin Young told SNY.tv Friday by phone. "She's going to send everything out."

Asked when Pollard might announce, Young said, "I have no idea. It's all going through the mother."

Pollard measures in at 6'8" and 190 pounds. The Hoyas could use him as a small forward that could be a decent shooter in the Big East.

Georgetown Basketball Recruiting: Nerlens Noel Chooses Kentucky

Highly touted high school basketball recruit Nerlens Noel has decided that he will commit to play basketball for Kentucky, despite the fact that earlier reports suggested that he was going to Georgetown. This is a big get for John Calipari, as Noel was one of the most highly sought after recruits in the country. Due to his 6'10" frame, Noel has been compared to the likes of Anthony Davis, who dominated play during the 2012 NCAA Tournament for the Wildcats.

Many expect that Noel will be one of the better big men in college basketball next season and should help Kentucky to potentially be favorites to repeat as NCAA Tournament champions

Noel had his choices broken down to Georgetown, Kentucky, and Syracuse before ultimately deciding on Kentucky.

Georgetown Basketball Recruiting: Nerlens Noel To Make His College Decision On April 11

Highly touted prospect Nerlens Noel will make his college decision official on April 11 according to a post on his blog on ESPN.com.

I've decided to announce my decision a week from today on ESPN, so I've got a lot of thinking to do between now and then. And I've heard the rumors about me making a decision already. That's not true. Rumors are rumors, what can you do, but just know that I'm far from a decision no matter what you hear.

Noelis not only receiving interest from the Georgetown Hoyas, but also for the national champion Kentucky Wildcats and the Syracuse Orange. His size, 6'10", remind a lot of people of Kentucky's Anthony Davis with how he can take over a game with his size on defense. Noel is bound to be a highly watched player regardless where he goes but if he goes to Georgetown, he goes to a school that has a reputation of producing some of the best big men in college basketball.
