It's no secret that Maryland basketball coach Gary Williams and former athletic director Debbie Yow didn't exactly get along well. The list of transgressions is long, and is best summed up by Mike Wise's column on the subject here. Since Williams is a legend, it was Yow that eventually left first, jumping to become N.C. State's athletic director earlier this year.↵
Well, wouldn't you know it: Maryland's football team got a big win over Yow's Wolfpack last Saturday. The win was Maryland's eighth on the year and cemented Ralph Friedgen's status as the ACC Coach of the Year. What does Gary Williams think of that? Someone asked him today, and he had this to say, via Patrick Stevens.
↵↵Gary on Friedgen's coach of the year award: "It's just nice to see. It's nice he got his eighth win against N.C. State, too.↵
See, Gary Williams never forgets. I hope to hear similar things from him when Maryland beats N.C. State in basketball later this season.↵
