Torrey Smith is a wide receiver from the University of Maryland who is rumored to be a potential first-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. This makes him like Darrius Heyward-Bey, who was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. Well, sort of. They aren't the same player, of course, but comparisons are natural, especially in this era where all prospects have to have an archetype.
↵How does Smith feel about those comparisons? Annoyed. He decided to vent about them on his Twitter account today.

↵i hate when people compare me to H-Bey..i feel like the baby bro..even though we have nothing in common except playing for md

↵i know why my lil bros used to get mad when they were compared to me haha it sucks being the younger one haha

↵now that im out of school... @KerryB_13 @KevinDorsey12 @Q_THA_DUDE Coxon, Marcus, King, Cheeseboro will be compared to me haha its not cool

Smith is just blowing off steam - and admitted it really didn't bother him that much - but he does have a point. Draft comparisons can obscure the picture and make us not appreciate just how unique each player really is.
