Maryland Vs. Georgia Tech: Terps Break Long Run, Trail 21-10

Stay connected for news and updates

Who needs the pass game? Maryland backup quarterback C.J. Brown busted a 77-yard run for a touchdown. The play started innocent enough, a faked inside hand-off to runningback Davin Meggett, but Brown kept the ball. Showing serious speed, Brown got to the edge and simply outran the Yellow Jacket defense.

The Terrapin defense has done a good job of limiting the Yellow Jacket offense in the second half, in turn keeping the game from becoming a blowout. After the Brown big play, if the Terp defense can muster another stop or two perhaps the Terrapins can make this a game.

Coach Randy Edsall figured to face significant questions for benching quarterback Danny O'Brien, but the long run from Brown may limit some of the questions. If Brown can continue to move the ball, perhaps the Terps will have a real quarterback controversy moving forward.
