Alex Len Likely Will Still Miss Games Even If Cleared By NCAA, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

While it looks very likely that the NCAA will rule Maryland basketball recruit Alex Len eligible to play, there remains a strong possibility that he will still miss games. Via Jeff Barker of the Baltimore Sun, the NCAA may still suspend Len for violations even if cleared to play.

The NCAA is still expected to give him a penalty because he had a deal with a club team previously.

Maryland will soon learn how many games the penalty will cover. Then Maryland will appeal the penalty and Len will be permitted to practice during the appeal.

It remains to be seen how long Len will miss time. Regardless, the potential addition of Len will be a major boost to a Terps team that lacks size and depth.

A Terps official issued a response saying there has been "no change" on Len's status as of now.
