Maryland Vs. North Carolina State: Terps End Season By Visiting Wolfpack

The Maryland Terrapins (2-9, 1-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) conclude their nightmarish season this Saturday, Nov. 26, against the N.C. State Wolfpack (6-5, 3-4 ACC) with a visit to Carter-Finley Stadium this Saturday, Nov. 26. The Terps have lost seven straight games since defeating the FCS Towson Tigers on Oct. 1, but can at least close their season on a high note with an upset of the Wolfpack.

That task became more difficult with news that wide receiver Ronnie Tyler and center Bennett Fulper won't travel with the Terps to Raleigh. Coach Randy Edsall said Tuesday that Tyler has academic issues which will prevent him from traveling, while Fulper has a hamstring injury which will keep him off the field for six to eight weeks. Tyler, a senior, has 18 catches for 158 yards and a score this season.

The Terrapins lost to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last Saturday, 31-10, as Wake's Tanner Price threw for 320 yards, three scores, and no interceptions. Though Maryland enjoyed some success in the running game--quarterback C.J. Brown and running back Davin Meggett combined for 201 of Maryland's 229 rushing yards--it could not establish a passing game of its own, with Brown completing just 47.6 percent of his passes.

N.C. State, on the other hand, is fresh off its most impressive victory of the season: it shocked the No. 7 Clemson Tigers, 37-13, by forcing four turnovers and having a brilliant performance from Mike Glennon. The junior quarterback completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 253 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. N.C. State's victory ended the Tigers' six-week stay in the AP Top 10, dropping them from No. 7 to No. 18.
