Maryland vs. Radford: Terrapins Knock Off Highlanders, 65-60

Maryland picked up win No. 7 on the season on Friday night, beating Radford 65-60 at the Comcast Center.

After a high scoring first half that resulted in a 39-39 tie at the break, the two teams played a little tighter in the second half and Maryland was able to do just enough to pull out the victory.

Ashton Pankey, who fouled out in the second half, led the Terps with 17 points on 6-8 shooting. Terrell Stoglin edged his way into double figures with 15 points while James Padgett posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds on the evening. Maryland shot just 36.2 percent from the field, but used a 41-34 rebounding edge, including a big 19-11 effort on the offensive glass to hold Radford off.

R.J. Price led the Highlanders, who fall to 3-11 on the season, by scoring 22 points on 8-20 shooting, while Javonte Green made an impact on both ends, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Next up for Maryland will be a matchup with Albany at home on Dec. 28.

Maryland vs. Radford: Terrapins In Tie Game At Half

The Maryland Terrapins found themselves in a dogfight during the first half of their game against the Radford Highlanders on Friday night at the Comcast Center.

Thanks to 16 points from guard R.J. Price and 11 points from forward Javonte Green, the 3-10 Highlanders out of the Big South Conference were able to take a 39-39 tie into the half against the 6-3 Terrapins.

James Padgett had nine points and seven rebounds to lead Maryland's offensive effort. Forward Ashton Pankey had eight points and leading scorer Terrell Stoglin had five points on 2-7 shooting. Though no Terrapins are in double figures yet, however, the team's problems in the first half weren't on offense.

Maryland allowed Radford to shoot a solid 46.7 percent from the field, including a 6-13 performance from behind the 3-point arc.

In the second half, the Terps will likely look to put their considering rebounding advantage in the first half to work. The Terps beat the Highlanders 19-11 on the boards in the first half, including 11-5 on the offensive glass. If Maryland can keep that going, it should have a good chance to pull away as the game goes on.
