Military Bowl 2011, Toledo Vs. Air Force: Matt Campbell To Coach Toledo From Press Box

Matt Campbell became the youngest coach earlier in December when he took over the Toledo Rockets following the departure of Tim Beckman, who accepted the Illinois Fighting Illini's head-coaching position. The former offensive coordinator will coach Toledo against the Air Force Falcons in the 2011 Military Bowl on Wednesday, but will do so from the press box, reports Frank Schwab of the Colorado Springs Gazette. "[Campbell] wants as little change as possible," Schwab says.

Campbell is accustomed to coaching from the press box, having served as the Rockets' offensive coordinator since 2010. Prior to that, he coordinated their running game and offensive line. His coaching career began in 2004 as the Mount Union Purple Raiders' offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

The 2011 Military Bowl is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 4:30 PM. ESPN and ESPN3.com will provide television coverage.
