ACC Football Kickoff 2011: Randy Edsall Discusses Transition To Being Maryland Football Coach

Maryland football coch Randy Edsall conducted his media address at the 2011 ACC Football Kickoff in Pinehurst, North Carolina earlier Monday afternoon. While most focused on his comments on the Terps' schedule, Edsall also discussed a variety of topics, including the less-than-ideal circumstances surrounding his first few months on the job.

Via InsideMdSports.com:

The one thing I really feel good about is all the young men in our program as we get started on Aug. 8 have bought into what we want to get accomplished. I'm very pleased with the direction we're going.

We've had some obstacles to overcome, and we've done that. We've made tremendous strides in those areas.

When asked to elaborate on those obstacles, Edsall pointed to academic issues that have been well-documented. He also discussed a variety of other topics during his media address, including the Terps' schedule and ACC commissioner John Swofford's comments on the state of college football.
