James Franklin Comments On Accusations That He Tampered With Danny O'Brien

It is important to note that nobody has ever come right out and said they believe that James Franklin was tampering with Danny O'Brien while he was a Terrapin in an effort to get him to Vanderbilt, but based on the comments Randy Edsall made in his latest interview, the damage has been done. Franklin responded to those accusations, or more accurately the hints at accusations, during a recent radio appearance.

"But the fact that people would make accusations that we tampered or did this or did that, again, I'm just going to defend our program and defend our character and how we do things. But I think it's ridiculous to think that I'm not going to have relationships with these kids after I leave places."

I can understand why Franklin feels that way, but it must be hard for Randy Edsall to think otherwise when Franklin admits to contact with his former player and then that player hopes to transfer to that school. I'm not sure we will ever know exactly what happened with Franklin and Danny O'Brien, but it looks like there might be a nice little rivalry developing between Franklin and his former employer.
