2012 Women's NCAA Tournament, Texas A&M Vs. Arkansas: Aggies Edge Razorbacks, Will Play Maryland In Sweet 16

The Maryland Terrpains eked out a four-point win over Louisville on Monday night to advance to the Sweet 16 in Raleigh, where they will face the Texas A&M Aggies. The defending national champs edged out the Arkansas Razorbacks at home in a 61-59 barnburner. The Aggies committed 17 turnovers to keep the No. 6 seed in it down the stretch. Arkansas took a lead in the final minute before Sydney Carter hit two free-throws to give A&M a one-point lead with just 24 seconds remaining.

Adaora Elonu was dominant inside, scoring 23 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Elonu will present a challenge for Tianna Hawkins and company in the paint. No other Aggies player was in double figures, however, as they were very sloppy on the offensive end. Both Maryland and Texas A&M were challenged on their home court tonight, as Louisville and Arkansas took it down to the wire. The Terps, however, will look to make it 10 wins in a row in Raleigh this weekend and get past the Aggies and into the Elite 8.
