ACC Tournament 2012, Florida State Vs. Duke Final Score: Seminoles Hold On To Beat Duke 62-59

The Florida State Seminoles and Duke Blue Devils faced off on Saturday afternoon to find out who would face off against the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Noles jumped out early and held off Duke to lead 33-31 at halftime, but left a lot of points on the court as Duke turned the ball over in bunches in the first half.

In the second half the Noles kicked it into gear and at one point led by double-digits, but the Blue Devils went on a run during the Noles scoring drought and took the lead. The Seminoles regained the lead late and pushed their lead to three points after a clutch Luke Loucks shot in the final minute, sealing the Noles victory. Florida State will take on North Carolina on Sunday afternoon.

ACC Tournament 2012, NC State Vs. North Carolina Final Score: Tar Heels Hang On To Win 69-67

The North Carolina Tar Heels punched their ticket to the ACC Tournament Finals on Saturday afternoon with a win over N.C. State, but it wasn't easy. The Wolfpack played the Tar Heels tough, who were without forward John Henson who injured his wrist on Friday, and kept it close all the way until the buzzer. C.J. Leslie picked up 22 points for the Wolfpack, but it just wasn't enough at the end as the Tar Heels ripped away the victory.

For the Tar Heels, Tyler Zeller once again had a nice game picking up 23 points and 9 rebounds, nearly picking picking up a double-double. Harrison Barnes also picked up 16 points while Kendall Marshall added 12. In place of Henson in the lineup, James Michael McAdoo picked up nine points and two rebounds. With the win, North Carolina will move on to face the winner of Florida State and Duke on Sunday.

ACC Tournament 2012: Bracket, Schedule And More

The semifinal matchups of the 59th ACC Men's Basketball Tournament are set, with the top three seeds advancing and a NCAA bubble team trying to make a statement.

The first semifinal of the day will see North Carolina, the top seed in this year's tournament, take on Mark Gottfried's North Carolina State Wolfpack. The Wolfpack's run to the semifinals, which included a win over Virginia on Friday, just may be enough to get off the team off bubble and in to the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

The second semifinal of the day pits the Duke Blue Devils against the Florida State Seminoles. Duke squeaked out a four point win over Virginia Tech to reach the semifinals, while Florida State advanced courtesy of an 11 point win over Miami.

Here is the schedule for Saturday's semifinal matchups. The latest bracket can be found here.

ACC Tournament 2012, Virginia Tech Vs. Duke: Hokies' Season Ends With 60-56 Loss

The Virginia Tech Hokies ACC tournament ended on Friday night, as Seth Greenberg's club fell 60-56 to the Duke Blue Devils in the quarterfinals in Atlanta. It was yet another close game that the Hokies could not pull out, ending a brutally frustrating season in Blacksburg.

One night after lighting up Clemson with 24 points, second team All-ACC member Erick Green led the Hokies with 16 points. He was the only starter for Seth Greenberg in double figures. Robert Brown added 16 points for Va. Tech, who struggled to get much rhythm going on the offensive end. The Hokies shot just 30 percent from the floor and it was a struggle all evening. Va. Tech cut the Duke lead to two early in the second, but they would never threaten thereafter.

Duke now moves on to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the Florida State and and Miami game which will wrap up today's action from Philips Arena.

ACC Tournament 2012, Virginia Tech Vs. Duke Halftime Score: Blue Devils Hold Narrow 31-26 Lead

The Virginia Tech Hokies are playing excellent defense and are battling on the boards, but their poor shooting from the field has been their undoing so far. In most facets of the game, they're matching or outplaying the Duke Blue Devils, but their inability to make open shots has been shocking. Even though the Hokies are shooting just 28 percent from the field, the Blue Devils only have a lead of 31-26 at halftime.

Austin Rivers is only 1-4 from behind the arc, but he's been great otherwise. He leads all scorers with 11 points. Virginia Tech has spread the scoring around, and Robert Green leads the way with eight points. Erick Green has been disappointing -- he's shooting just 1-7 from the floor -- but that one made basket was at the buzzer just before the end of the half.

ACC Tournament 2012, NC State Vs. Virginia Final Score: Wolfpack Edges 67-64 Win

In a game that was a virtual must-win for their NCAA Tournament hopes, the NC State Wolfpack brought some of their best and forced the Virginia Cavaliers to play at a tempo that was a bit more to their liking than Tony Bennett's. They avenged their earlier one-point loss in Raleigh while picking up an absolutely vital top-50 RPI win, downing the Cavaliers 67-64.

C.J. Leslie was fantastic, scoring 19 points on 9-11 shooting and leading all players with 14 rebounds. Two other members of the Wolfpack scored in double figures, while NC State shot 54 percent from the floor. Mike Scott and Akil Mitchell both picked up double-doubles for UVA, but Bennett's team couldn't overcome their complete lack of scoring from their bench. They didn't score a single bench point.

NC State moves onto the semifinals, where they will face North Carolina.

Virginia Vs. NC State Score Update: Wolfpack Takes 36-33 At Halftime

The Virginia Cavaliers and N.C. State Wolfpack are facing off in the second round of the ACC Tournament and the Pack holds a slight 36-33 lead in a game that's been close the entire way so far. The Wolfpack took a three point lead at the buzzer on a Scott Wood three-pointer. At the half, C.J. Leslie leads the Wolfpack in scoring with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

For Virginia, they've keept the game close and held the lead for a little bit and have been able to spread their scoring around and remain balanced. Joe Harris leads the Cavs in scoring with 9 points while Akil Mitchell Mike Scott have both picked up 8 points so far. The game is still wide open and anyone's game, which will likely come down to the wire.

ACC Tournament Schedule 2012: Duke Vs. Virginia Tech Game Time, TV Coverage And More

The evening session of the ACC tournament starts with a matchup between the Duke Blue Devils and the Virginia Tech Hokies on Friday night. The Devils enter the game without forward Ryan Kelly who will miss the entire ACC tournament with a sprained ankle that he suffered in practice on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils have not lost an ACC tournament game since a semifinal loss to Clemson in 2008. They also defeated the Hokies 77-63 in the semifinals last season, the first and only game between two teams in the tournament. Duke also swept Virginia Tech during the regular season winning 75-60 on Feb. 2 and 70-65 on Feb. 25.

To defeat the Blue Devils, the Hokies will need a big game from guard Erick Green, averaging 15.6 points per game. In addition, the Tech defense will have to slow down Duke guard Austin Rivers, who averaged 20.5 points in the two games against the Hokies.

The winner of this game will face the winner of the Miami Hurricanes vs. Florida State Seminoles on Saturday evening in the ACC semifinals. The game is set for a 7 p.m. tip off with television coverage on ESPN2 and Raycom Sports. It will also be streaming live on ESPN3.com.

North Carolina Vs. Maryland Final Score Update: Terps Fall Apart In Second Half, Go Down 85-69

The Maryland Terrapins trailed the North Carolina Tar Heels 36-26 at halftime, but in the second half they would be facing a Tar Heels team without the help of forward John Henson who injured his wrist in the first half. The Tar Heels didn't seem to really miss him however, as the team rolled right along on the shoulders of center Tyler Zeller. Zeller got in a bit of foul trouble however, picking up his fourth foul with just under ten minutes left in the game.

Every time the Terps seemed to rally and get back in the game however, the Tar Heels would pick up the pace and go on a run. Though North Carolina got in a bit of foul trouble and Maryland was able to get within single digits, the Tar Heels overall depth just proved to be too much as North Carolina when on to win 85-69.

Terrell Stoglin once again led the Terps in scoring picking up 30 points, hitting on five of his eleven three-point shots on the afternoon. Nick Faust and Sean Mosely added 11 and 10 points respectively, but the Terps just couldn't do enough offensively and defensively. For the Tar Heels however, despite losing Henson for the game and Zeller getting into foul trouble had five players score double-digit points. In the game UNC guard Kendall Marshall broke the ACC All-Time single-season assist record, picking up 12 assists in the game..

John Henson Injury: North Carolina Forward Hurts Wrist/Hand, Will Not Return

The Maryland Terrapins and the North Carolina Tar Heels are facing off in the second round of the of ACC Tournament. The Tar Heels jumped out to an early double-digit lead, but forward John Henson injured either his wrist or his hand going up for a bucked. Henson was fouled going up for a basket and went down clutching his wrist/hand. Henson took his free throws before subbing out and going to the locker room.

Henson came back into the game for about a series, as he clearly didn't look comfortable and head coach Roy Williams pulled him out of the game. In the second half, Henson was supposed to warm up with the rest of the team but he did not make his way out on to the floor. Henson had an X-Ray at halftime and it showed that nothing was broken. He will not return to the game.

North Carolina Vs. Maryland Score Update: John Henson Injured As UNC Leads Terps 36-26

The Maryland Terrapins and the North Carolina Tar Heels are facing off in the second round of the of ACC Tournament. The Tar Heels jumped out to an early double-digit lead, but forward John Henson injured either his wrist or his hand going up for a bucked. Henson was fouled going to the basket, shot his free throws, but then left for the locker room for a bit before coming back to the court. At halftime however, the Terps find themselves trailing 36-26.

Maryland went down by double-digits early to the Tar Heels, but were able to battle back to get within two scores, but once again let the game get away from them a little bit. Once again Terrell Stoglin's play is keeping the Terps close in the game, as he leads the team at halftime with 13 points. Guard Nick Faust has also had a nice half, picking up seven points and one key block.

For the Tar Heels, Henson picked up seven points and three rebounds before going down with his injury. In Henson's spot in the first half, James McAdoo picked it up off the bench with four points. Henson's status in the second half is still up in the air, as he went on the court and was immediately put back on the bench by head coach Roy Williams.

ACC Tournament Schedule 2012: Virginia Vs. NC State Game Time, TV Coverage And More

The Virginia Cavaliers' fourth place ACC regular season finish was good enough to net them a bye in the first round of the ACC Tournament, but they won't come up against poor opposition as a result of that bye. Instead, they'll be up against a team desperate for a win. The NC State Wolfpack knows that they remain a bubble team with a loss to UVA, but that they will play themselves into the big dance with a victory.

NC State is coming off of a dominant 78-57 victory over a poor Boston College team on Thursday. Virginia defeated the Wolfpack in Raleigh in their first meeting, but only won that game by one point. That came just two days after NCSU lost a rivalry game against North Carolina, and they're likely to be a much more confident bunch for this rematch.

ACC Tournament Schedule 2012: North Carolina Vs. Maryland Game Time, TV Coverage And More

The Maryland Terrapins walked away from a competitive first half affair against Wake Forest with a 22-point win in Atlanta. For their efforts, they earned the right to face the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels at noon ET in the second round of the 2012 ACC Tournament.

Terrell Stoglin had 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists against the Demon Deacons. He'll need another big game if the Terrapins hope to topple a Tar Heels squad fighting for a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Tar Heels finished 14-2 in conference play, and 27-4 overall. They blew out the Terrapins in their second meeting during the regular season two weeks ago. Tyler Zeller had 30 points and eight rebounds during the Senior Day win.

ACC Tournament Schedule Day Two: Game Times, TV Coverage And More

The first day of the 2012 ACC Tournament got off without any real upsets, as all the chalk all made it through the first round on Thursday.

The Maryland Terrapins started off the day with a blowout win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 82-60. The Terps held just a five point lead at halftime, but really took it to the Deacons in the second half. Maryland's reward for their 22 point victory is a matchup in the second round against the top seeded North Carolina Tar Heels.

North Carolina State also had a dominant victory in their first round matchup against Boston College, crushing the Eagles 78-57 in the opening round. It was a dominant win for the Wolfpack from start to finish. In the next round, N.C. State will match up with Virginia, who the Wolfpack lost to by just one point in the regular season.

In the closest game of the first round, the Virginia Tech Hokies were able to get past the Clemson Tigers 68-63. Tech trailed the Tigers 35-30 at halftime, but were able to rally back to pick up the victory. In the second round of the tournament the Hokies will face off with the Duke Blue Devils.

While the game was a blow out win for the Miami Hurricanes, it was perhaps the worst game to watch of the first round of the tournament. At halftime, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets held a 20-19 lead over the Hurricanes, but the Miami offense finally hit it's groove in the second half to blow out the Yellow Jackets and move on to the next round. In the second round of the tournament, the Hurricanes will take on the Florida State Seminoles in the final game of the second round on Friday.

ACC Tournament 2012, Virginia Tech Vs. Clemson Recap: Hokies Advance, Will Face Duke In Quarterfinals

The No. 10 seed Virginia Tech Hokies are moving on to the quarterfinals of the 2012 ACC Tournament after a 68-63 win over Clemson. The Hokies went on a 10-2 run at the five minute mark to jump in front by nine with less than three minutes to play. Back-to-back three-pointers by Dorenzo Hudson and Erick Green kick-started the run. The Tigers hit just two field goals over a ten minute stretch as the Hokies pulled ahead.

The guard duo of Hudson and Green was huge Virginia Tech. Green led the Hokies with 24 points, hitting seven of 11 from the floor in an efficient game where he got penetration and got to the rim. The second team All-ACC selection was a perfect eight for eight from the free throw line, including two to ice the game with 20 seconds remaining. Hudson added 19 points to help the Tech survive and move on. The Hokies are now .500 at 16-16, and it was encouraging to see them finish off a game once they grabbed the lead late in the second half.

It gets much harder for Seth Greenberg's club on Friday, as they now face the No. 2 seeded Duke Blue Devils. In another heartbreaking close loss, Va. Tech fell in overtime to the Blue Devils a little less than two weeks ago at Cameron. They will get another shot on Friday at 7:00 PM

ACC Tournament 2012, Virginia Tech Vs. Clemson Halftime Score: Tigers Have Narrow 35-30 Lead

The Clemson Tigers are shooting the ball extremely well, and they're picking their spots better than the Virginia Tech Hokies. Tech had a small lead for much of the half, but Clemson was fantastic in the final two minutes of the half and they take a 35-30 lead into the break.

There have been three ties and six lead changes, but a 14-3 run by Clemson at the end of the half has them on top. Neither team had got to the free throw line with any regularity, and fouls have been noticeably absent from this game. The two teams have five combined and Tech hasn't been to the foul line once. Clemson is 2-2 from the charity stripe.

Clemson's Andre Young is the game's leading scorer with 11 points. Nine of those have come on three-point shots, and he's 3-3 from behind the arc. Dorenzo Hudson leads the Hokies with 10 points. Erick Green is doing well and he has nine points on 4-7 shooting, but he still doesn't look his best. Going into halftime, coach Seth Greenberg admitted that Green is very fatigued.

2012 ACC Tournament, Boston College Vs. NC State Final Score: Wolfpack Dominate, Will Face Virginia In 2nd Round

The N.C. State Wolfpack never trailed on their way to a 78-57 win over the Boston College Eagles in the first round of the 2012 ACC Tournament on Thursday. The Eagles were held out without a field goal for over seven minutes to open up the game. During that span, Scott Wood hit two of his five 3-pointers for the game, scoring eight of his 22 points.

The Wolfpack were impressive in all facets of their game, but perhaps especially on defense. Richard Howell and C.J. Leslie had 12 and 11 rebounds, respectively, and Boston College committed 19 turnovers to 11 for N.C. State. Lorenzo Brown was the second leading scorer for the Wolfpack, with 12 points along with eight assists.

Ryan Anderson had 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles, but got little help elsewhere in a 38.6 percent shooting performance by the team. The Wolfpack will face the Virginia Cavaliers in the second round at 2 p.m. ET on Friday.

2012 ACC Tournament, Wake Forest Vs. Maryland Final Score: Terps Run Wild In Second Half, Win 82-60

Until the very end of the first half of the ACC Tournament first round game between the Maryland Terrapins and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, things were extremely competitive. Wake was very good in much of the first half, but slipped a bit at the end of the period. Maryland carried their momentum from the end of the first into the second, pulling away from Wake Forest with a great second half performance, leading to a 82-60 victory.

The Demon Deacons were poor defensively in the second half and didn't shoot well enough from the floor to make up for it. Maryland shot 54 percent from the floor, while Wake shot just 40 percent. Maryland's Terrell Stoglin had an excellent game, and led all scorers with 25 points.

Maryland moves on to face the No. 1 seeded North Carolina Tar Heels in the quarterfinals on Friday.

2012 ACC Tournament, Wake Forest Vs. Maryland Halftime Score: Terps Lead 36-31

The Maryland Terrapins and Wake Forest Demon Deacons are both shooting the ball well in a game that has been very entertaining through the first 20 minutes. There has been just as much solid defense as quality shooting, with both teams looking much better than their records. It's been an even game and the teams have been hard to separate, but the Terps turned it on at the very end of the half. At halftime, Maryland leads 36-31.

Maryland really stepped up on the defensive end in the final four minutes of the half as they grabbed a couple of steals after the under-four minute media timeout and did not let Wake Forest grab any offensive rebounds. Their 19-10 overall rebounding advantage and their 5-1 advantage on the offensive boards has been the biggest difference between the two teams.

Wake Forest's C.J. Harris leads all scorers with 13 points. Terrell Stoglin leads the Terps with nine points.

ACC Tournament Schedule Day One: Game Times, TV Coverage And More

The ACC tournament kicks off on Thursday, and some of the first round games are clearly bigger than others. In the case of the opener between the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Maryland Terrapins, both teams are likely just playing for pride. The Virginia Tech Hokies and Clemson Tigers are also both not going to improve their chances of going to the NCAA tournament with anything more than an upset win of the entire tournament.

The NC State Wolfpack and Miami Hurricanes are still fighting for something, however. Both teams are on the tournament bubble, and due to the soft nature of this year's bubble, both will probably feel good about their chances of making the big dance with just one win in the ACC tournament. NC State takes on the Boston College Eagles, while Miami faces Georgia Tech.

Duke, North Carolina, Florida State and Virginia have byes. They will begin play on Friday.

ACC Tournament First Round Schedule (All games available on ESPNU and ESPN3)

ACC Tournament Bracket 2012: Maryland Vs. Wake Forest Time, TV Coverage And More

By virtue of finishing in eighth and ninth places in the Atlantic Coast Conference, respectably, the Maryland Terrapins and Wake Forest Demon Deacons face off in the first round of the ACC tournament against each other on Thursday. Unfortunately for them, the winner will have to play the No. 1 seed North Carolina Tar Heels. Neither team is in contention for an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament and both need a miracle tournament win to go dancing.

Though Maryland and Wake Forest aren't terribly good teams, both finished ahead of where they were projected to finish in the ACC preseason media poll. If either team is able to win on Thursday and keep it respectable against UNC on Friday, they will likely see it as something very positive to build on for next season.

All-ACC Teams Announced, Mike Scott Earns First Team Honors, Terrell Stoglin And Erick Green Second Team

The ACC Men's Basketball tournament is set to start on Thursday afternoon. Monday afternoon, the ACC announced its all-conference teams. While no one from Maryland earned All-ACC First Team recognition, two players from the Commonwealth of Virginia picked up the honors.

Virginia forward Mike Scott is the lone player on the first team not from Duke or North Caroina. His stats, 17.9 points per game on 57.3 percent shooting with 8.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, are certainly worthy to put him in the company of Carolina's Tyler Zeller, John Henson and Harrison Barnes and Duke's Austin Rivers.

Virginia Tech guard Erick Green earned a spot on the Second Team through a season where he scored 15.3 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game and 2.3 assists per game. He was joined by Maryland's Terrell Stoglin, who led the league with 21.2 points per game and also chipped in 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
