The Maryland Terrapins men's basketball team got a glimpse of the 2012-13 schedule on Friday and it looks to be a rough one. The ACC is going ahead with an 18-game regular season this year in advance of the Pittsburgh Panthers and the Syracuse Orange joining the conference in 2013.
Because of that, the Terrapins will play seven conference teams twice this season and play the other four only once. Four of the teams they will play twice made the NCAA Tournament last year.
Among the teams that they will play twice this season are defending ACC tournament champion Florida State Seminoles, Duke Blue Devils, North Carolina Tarheels and Virginia Cavaliers. The Terrapins will have the one of the youngest teams in the nation, but a highly touted recruiting class coming into College Park. The team will also be without Terrell Stoglin, the seventh-leading scorer in the nation, who declared for the NBA Draft after being suspended by the school.
