Rocky McIntosh was deactivated for the Washington Redskins against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, with several reports indicating he was late to meetings. At this point, all we know is that he didn't play. But if this ESPN 980 report is true, it's ... actually kind of hilarious.

Besides being late for a team meeting & being inattentive, ESPN 980 was also told by multiple sources that #Redskins LB Rocky McIntosh broke curfew Saturday night in Philly. It was pre-planned, he went so far to make his hotel bed appear as though he was in it/sleeping - by stuffing pillows, etc under the blankets. He was of course found to be guilty -- and 'deactivated' by Mike Shanahan. There was some argument by the coaching staff for this not to happen, but Shanny made final call.

McIntosh is a free agent and had been replaced in the lineup by Perry Riley, so he probably wasn't coming back this year anyway. Might as well go out with a bang.

Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan gives off the image of a calm tactician, not a hard-nosed coach that will scream and yell and get in his players' face. That's why seeing him try to pump up the Redskins before their game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday was kind of weird. Good on you, Kyle, but that was really out of character.

Also, judging from how awkward Shanahan's cursing sounds, it's possible he's just not the kind of guy to drop obscenities in normal conversation.

Redskins Vs. Eagles Final Score Update: Redskins Lose 35-10, End Season 5-11

In a lost season, the Redskins ended the year in appropriate fashion with a 35-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The loss drops Washington's record to 5-11 for the season, a disappointing record in Coach Mike Shanahan's second year.

Twice in the second half the Redskins cut the Eagles lead to three, but after Eagles quarterback Michael Vick found receiver DeSean Jackson for a touchdown on a deep pass play the Redskins never recovered. From there, the Eagles tacked on two more touchdowns and the rout was on.

For Redskin fans looking for good news, take heart in backup running back Evan Royster's performance. The rookie from Penn State rushed for more than 100 yards and a healthy 5.5 yards-per-carry average. After Royster, and fellow rookie Roy Helu busting a long touchdown, there was little to cheer for from Washington.

There is always next year, and the Redskins will have a high draft pick to address desperate needs on both sides of the ball. Perhaps the team will tackle the quarterback position with its early pick.

Redskins Vs. Eagles Score Update: Michael Vick Bomb Puts Eagles Ahead 20-10

Just as the Redskins cut into the Philadelphia lead, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick found receiver DeSean Jackson for a deep 60-yard bomb to put the Eagles up 10 points. With most of the fourth quarter remaining the Redskins trail the Eagles 20-10.

Early in the fourth quarter Washington Redskins kicker Graham Gano booted a short field goal to make the score 13-10 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Redskins drive stalled in the red zone leading to the Gano kick.

It's been a tough day for Redskins running backs, as both Roy Helu and Evan Royster battle injuries. Fullback Darrel Young has been forced into a more prominent role and quarterback Rex Grossman continues to run the passing game.

Grossman has thrown for more than 240 yards with an interception and a touchdown. A second Grossman interception looked possible in the third quarter but referees ruled the pass incomplete.

Redskins Vs. Eagles Score Update: Redskins Score On Long Pass To Roy Helu, Eagles Lead 10-7

For a team desperately needing a big play, rookie running back Roy Helu delivered. Helu took a short screen pass from quarterback Rex Grossman for almost 50 yards before plunging into the end zone to make the score 10-7 Eagles.

Helu ran down the field limping as he is fighting leg injuries. The run looked inspiring and featured good down field blocking from Redskins recievers. Though Helu has had limited touches today with the leg injuries, he made this one count. For the game, Helu now has more than 50 total yards and the touchdown.

Despite some poor coaching and play in the first half, the Redskins are suddenly back in the game against the Eagles. Linebacker Brian Orakpo has two sacks and a forced fumble from Eagles quarterback Michael Vick but is now out of the game with a shoulder injury. Rookie Ryan Kerrigan will be forced to step up the pressure on Vick in Orakpo's absence

Redskins Vs. Eagles Score Update: Eagles Lead 10-0 At Half

Neither the Redskins or Eagles will take part in the NFL playoffs, and the play of each team today shows why. The Eagles hold a 10-0 lead over the Redskins at halftime, but neither team looks impressive in a low scoring first half.

The Redskins looked incredibly inept inside the last two minutes of the half. The team caught a break with an Eagle turnover deep in their own territory. It looked like the Redskins could do no worse than a feild goal, and maybe even a touchdown, before Santana Moss drew an unsportsmanlike penalty for removing his helmet on the field. Moss's penalty moved the Redskins from inside the 10-yard line to out past the 20.

From there, Washington quarterback Rex Grossman found reciever Jabar Gaffney for a completion. After the Gaffney catch the team had no timeouts remaining and the clock expired before the Redskins could get their field goal unit on the field. In a year of Redskin failures, this one stood out.

Defensively the Redskins have been able to put pressure on Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, though the Eagles have moved the ball throughout the first half. Vick found Chad Hall for a touchdown late in the second quarter to make the lead 10-0.

Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman extended his consecutive games with an interception streak on a deep pass to receiver Anthony Armstrong. The ball bounced of an Eagle defender straight into the air before Eagle safety Nate Allen hauled in the interception.

The Redskins had a chance to put points on the board earlier in the second quarter, but a Graham Gano field goal attempt was blocked. In a year with atrocious special team play, this game looks particularly poor from the Redskins special team unit. Two kick returns have been marred by penalty flags in addition to the blocked kick.

Redskins Vs. Eagles First Quarter Update: Redskins Trail 3-0

Neither offense looked particularly dynamic but the Philadelpia Eagles did just enough to work a 3-0 lead over the Washington Redskins at the end of the first quarter. The Eagle field goal came early in the first quarter from kicker Alex Henery.

The Redskins had an opportunity for points as quarterback Rex Grossman unloaded a deep pass to receiver Santana Moss, but Moss was unable to haul the pass in. An Eagle defender may have tipped the ball, but the pass dropped through Moss's hands in the end zone. Outside of that deep pass, the Redskin offense has looked mostly inefficient.

The Redskins defense has played relatively well, limiting the Eagles from big plays. Brian Orakpo had a sack on Eagle quarterback Michael Vick, an encouraging sign for a player who usually remains quiet in division games.

The Washington Redskins will travel to Philadelphia in Week 17 to play their final game of the NFL season against the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams had a rough go of things in 2011, with the Redskins having a thoroughly underwhelming season and the Eagles experiencing backlash from their much-maligned and underperforming "dream team." Both teams are eager to get 2012 started on a winning note.
