During the first period of Tuesday's game between the Washington Capitals and New Jersey Devils, Andrew Gordon scored his first career NHL goal. Marcus Johansson sent the pass that Gordon would ultimately score on, so when the two returned to the bench, Gordon planted a smooch on Johansson.
As Johansson rushed down the end boards off of a pass from John Erskine, he found Gordon sprinting towards the net. Johansson fired a pass that found Gordon in front of the crease. Gordon would then poke it past Martin Brodeur.
Johansson scored his first career NHL goal this season and didn't display any sort of exuberant celebration afterwards. But Gordon took a cue from Ziggy Palffy and thought a hug was insufficient in expressing his gratitude.
