The Washington Capitals' offense is struggling, and now, they're going to be down another key scorer for an extended period of time. Eric Fehr will miss 3-4 weeks after suffering a shoulder injury last Friday, according to Katie Carrera of the Washington Post.
Fehr suffered the injury when he collided into David Steckel during the team's 4-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. Coach Bruce Boudreau immediately provided the media the 3-4 week timetable, which indicates that the injury is fairly serious. It's a right shoulder injury, which is concerning because he has had shoulder problems in the past.
Fehr struggled to start the season, but really emerged in the last couple weeks. He had five points in the six games leading up to the Canucks contest, and of course was the hero of the 2011 Winter Classic, with two goals. His steady presence will be missed on the second line.
