While the Capitals loss to the Flyers was a bummer in and of itself, it was even more disappointing that the Capitals may have lost one of their goaltenders in the process. Michal Neuvirth left the game after the first period and did not return. Katie Carrera of the Washington Post is reporting that Neuvirth will be day-to-day with what is being described as a lower body injury.

The major news that came out of the contest resulted from goaltender Michal Neuvirth being unable to return to the ice after the first period. The official word from the team is Neuvirth is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. After the morning skate on Tuesday, Neuvirth iced his left groin and hip area, which has bothered him previously this season.

It's hard to know exactly how long Neuvirth will be out because hockey injuries are notoriously vague. But if Neuvirth was icing something before the game, than it may not bode well for a speedy return. We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
