Sidney Crosby Injury Update: Penguins Star Cleared To Practice, Still Out Vs. Capitals

Stay connected for news and updates

The Pittsburgh Penguins received some good news on Thursday, as star Sidney Crosby was cleared to practice for the first time since suffering a concussion last season. There is still no timetable for Crosby's return to the ice, so he certainly won't play against the Washington Capitals on Thursday night, but this is a big step for him.

Crosby was practicing on Thursday, according to the team, and was wearing a black helmet, which means that he can be hit. Via the team:

#Pens captain Sidney Crosby is wearing a black helmet like everyone else at practice. We’ll get an update from coach Bylsma after practice.

Evgeni Malkin was also practicing for the Penguins, but he will not play on Thursday night either.
