Karl Alzner Bashes Arron Asham, Penguins Fans After Knockout Of Jay Beagle

Stay connected for news and updates

Washington Capitals defensemen Karl Alzner is known for being a fun-loving, goofy guy, so he's not the kind of person who calls out people left and right. That's why his thoughts on Arron Asham's punch and post-fight taunting after knocking out Jay Beagle in the third period of the Capitals' 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins were so striking.

Via Stephen Whyno of the Washington Times:

Just some of the comments by their fans and stuff is just unbelievable. It's classless. But I know that happens in fights. It's really crappy to see. Have some class a little bit, ya know?

Asham's taunting can be found here. Alzner did admit he was about to say something he probably shouldn't be saying, but he said it anyway. For what it's worth, Asham himself apologized for his post-fight gestures. Here's video of that, via TSN.
