Stay connected for news and updates

The Washington Capitals continued to apply the pressure on the Florida Panthers in the second period, but rookie Jacob Markstrom held his ground and the score still remains 1-0 after 40 minutes.

Markstrom made 10 saves in the second period and was primarily responsible for keeping the Panthers in the game. Tomas Vokoun has made 11 saves for the Caps through two periods.

Near the end of the second period, Mike Green took a slash from Jason Garrison and fell to the ice. He struggled to get off the ice as he was bent over in obvious pain. He headed to the locker room before the period ended. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
