Mike Green To Miss Capitals Game Vs. Ducks With Ear Injury, Will See Specialist

Stay connected for news and updates

It's becoming clear that Mike Green's ear injury is a little more serious than originally anticipated. Green, who first suffered the injury on February 6 against the Penguins when he was nailed with a slap shot, will miss the Capitals' game against the Ducks on Wednesday night and will see a specialist Wednesday afternoon.

Via Katie Carrera of the Washington Post:

Per [coach Bruce Boudreau], Mike Green will not play against the Ducks. The defenseman has an appointment with a specialist for his ear this afternoon #Caps

Green sat out one game, played Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings and then sat out again on Monday against the Phoenix Coyotes. There was a concern initially that he had a concussion, but it now appears that he has an entirely different injury.

The Capitals have lost three straight games since the win over the Penguins.
