Mike Green Will Not Play Tuesday, Will Return Saturday After Taking Puck To Face

Stay connected for news and updates

Mike Green appears to be recovering from a scary moment on Sunday when he took a puck to the face on a slap shot against the Penguins. He did participate in the Capitals' morning skate, and said he felt good after it. However, he will not be in the lineup for the team's game against the San Jose Sharks today, as the Capitals prefer to hold him out for precautionary reasons since they do not play again until Saturday.

Caps GM George McPhee tells me via text that Mike Green won't play tonight but should be fine for Saturday

Green admitted to feeling a little off-balanced after Sunday's game, and had symptoms that fall in line with what many have when they suffer a concussion. However, the team denied that Green had a concussion last night. Green was scheduled to go through additional tests after the morning skate today to determine the severity of his injury.
