Capitals Vs. Rangers, 2011 NHL Playoffs Game 1: Who Scores First Goal?

Stay connected for news and updates

We're just three hours and change away from the Washington Capitals beginning their 2011 NHL Playoffs run with Game 1 of their first-round series against the New York Rangers. Finally, after several months of waiting, we will finally be able to answer the question of whether the Capitals can shed their old playoff demons.

That's bad karma, though. Instead, let's change the discussion to something that represents good karma. Something like, a poll on which Capitals player will score the first goal in the series. Some unofficial odds, pulled completely out of my head, below the jump.

Alex Ovechkin: 3-1

Nicklas Backstrom: 5-1

Jason Arnott: 7-1

Alexander Semin: 7-1

Mike Knuble: 7-1

Brooks Laich: 10-1

Marcus Johansson: 13-1

Mike Green: 14-1

John Carlson: 15-1

Someone else: 8-1
