The real MVP of the Capitals' Game 5 2011 NHL Playoffs win over the New York Rangers wasn't anyone on the ice; it was the fans. The Capitals players said the Verizon Center was as loud as they've ever heard it, and I think that's pretty on point. The signs and chants were also clever too, and there's no doubt the Capitals were lifted to play better because of it.
In case you missed all the awesomeness, here are some places to relive it in photos:
- The Washington Post has a phenomenal photo gallery, as does CSN Washington.
- Clydeorama has some great game shots.
- DC Sports Bog had some phenomenal Capitals signs here.
- Finally, if you check out just one photo stream, you must check out Cheryl Nichols' over at Capitals News Network Off The Ice. Some tremendous photos of the jumbotron, as well as other Capitals fans, are in there.
