The Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning meeting for the four time this season at the Tampa Bay Times Forum (7 p.m. ET on CSN).
Less than 24 hours after an impressive third-period comeback victory, the Washington Capitals play their second of four straight road games Saturday as they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning for a Eastern Conference Southeast Division contest at the Tampa Bay Times Forum (7 p.m. on CSN).
On Friday, the Capitals (29-23-5) trailed 1-0 heading into the final period against Florida, but Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin tallied third-period goals to help Washington rally and gain ground on the first-place Panthers, who now earn just a two-point lead in the division standings.
Ovechkin is hoping to keep recent solid playing going, as he has tallied four goals and six points in the last five games, while Semin has tallied three goals and three assists in his last five.
Meanwhile, the Lightning (25-26-6) are coming off a solid Thursday night victory, 6-5, in overtime against the San Jose Sharks. Tampa Bay was outshot a stunning 50-25, but still managed to sneak out the victory.
This will be contest four of six between the two Southeast foes, as the home team has won each of the first three. In the latest meeting, Jan. 31, Tampa Bay downed Washington, 4-3 in overtime.
