Capitals Vs. Canadiens: In Montreal, Caps Break Bad Road Habits Against Habs In 3-0 Win

It is unfortunate that the Washington Capitals cannot visit Montreal more often.

For the second time this season and third straight time overall at Bell Centre Saturday, the Caps shutout the Canadiens 3-0.

Dennis Wideman, Matt Hendricks and Alexander Semin scored for the Caps. Wideman gave Washington a 1-0 lead midway through the first period, while Hendricks' rebound goal and Semin's penalty shot in the third period sealed the victory. Troy Brouwer also had a penalty shot Saturday, marking the first time in franchise history that the Caps have had two penalty shots in one game.

Tomas Vokoun made 30 saves for his third shutout of the season.

The Canadiens have had horrible luck against the Caps at home during the regular season. Montreal has not scored a goal at home against Washington since March 15, 2011, and has not defeated Washington at home since February 10, 2010.

After their ninth road win of the season, the Caps get right back to work Sunday in a matinee against the Boston Bruins at Verizon Center.
