Capitals Vs. Flyers Score Update: Washington Puts The Pressure On But Philadelphia Evens It Up

Stay connected for news and updates

After two periods of play at Wells Fargo Center, the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers are tied 1-1. The Flyers evened it up six minutes into the second period on Claude Giroux's 27th goal of the season.

Washington has out-played the Flyers so far, with plenty of great scoring chances. The Caps have had about five or six more solid chances but have not been able to capitalize. Mathieu Perreault had a wide open shot right in front of the net after a funky bounce off the boards but Perreault shot well wide of the net. Alex Ovechkin also had a clear lane and solid chance in the closing minute but his one-timer was knocked away by Ilya Bryzgalov. The Capitals had three power play goals in the big road win in Detroit but they're 0 for 3 so far tonight. They will look to keep the pressure on in the final period to notch a second straight impressive road win.
