Michal Neuvirth Injury Update: Goaltender Thinks He Might Be Healthy Before End Of First Round

As the first round series with the Boston Bruins approaches, the biggest question for the Capitals is the status of goaltender Michal Neuvirth. His lower body injury will most likely keep him out of game one of the series, but in an tweet by Washington Post Capitals beat writer Katie Carrera, Neuvirth says that he thinks he should be able to go at some point in the first round.

While he missed practice Tuesday, he makes it clear that he has full intention of playing in the series, but also acknowledged that he will probably have to play through some pain.

Game one of the series against Boston will most likely be started by goaltender Braden Holtby. Dany Sabourin will be his backup with goaltender Tomas Vokoun out with an injury as well.
