2012 NHL Playoffs, Bruins Vs. Capitals Reaction: Braden Holtby Impresses, Again

Goals are still at a premium in the series between the Capitals and the Bruins, but Washington managed to pull out a 2-1 win in Game 4 on Thursday to even the series as it now heads back to Boston for Game 5. The offense scored when it counted, but the big story from Game 4 was Braden Holtby, who has played well enough to win all four games this series. Our Capitals blog Japers' Rink continues to be impressed with the young netminder.

No one stole the show like Braden Holtby tonight. Aside from an odd-man rush (see above), Holts was tracking the puck like the best of 'em, and allowed precious few rebounds or advantageous re-directions. Caps fans watching most all of his professional games knew he had this ability, but to see the consistency through four games is absolutely stunning.

It would be one thing for Holtby to just be playing this well, but he is doing it across the ice from Tim Thomas, one of the best goalies in the NHL. It makes his performance even more impressive.

We'll have plenty more on these games and the rest of the 2012 NHL Playoffs on SB Nation D.C., so keep it locked to this StoryStream for all the latest news and updates.
