NHL Playoffs 2012, Capitals Vs. Rangers: Scoreless After First Period

The Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers are scoreless after the first period of play in Game 3 of the 2012 NHL Playoff series between the two teams, tied up at one game a piece. The were a couple of good chances for each side, including this shot for the Caps just missing.

While neither team scored and each had some decent looks, there was still hitting going on in the game. Just like the Boston Bruins did in the series before, the Rangers are getting physical with Caps star Alexander Ovechkin. Here's one of the big hits on Ovi in the first period.

There was just a single power play for either team in the first period, the Caps picking up one, but the power play fizzled out to no avail.
