There's two special words that every baseball fan dreams of throughout the frigid winter months in which no white balls with red stitching are struck by wooden bats, and in which balls of different sizes are used in various different sports: "Play Ball!"
No, those aren't the two words I'm talking about. I'm talking about "Hail Delay!"
Those are the words that have the thousands of Washington Nationals fans fuming right now at Nationals Park. Because we're in the bottom of the fourth inning, and that's where we've been for quite a while.
This comes on just the second game of the 2011 MLB season for the Nationals. And it comes as they have their first lead of the year, after being the very last team in all of Major League Baseball to score a run (according to Mark Zuckerman of CSNWashington.com). How much longer will the Nats have to wait before they can get a win?
