Nationals Vs. Brewers Score: Zack Greinke Home Run Gives Milwaukee A 4-3 Lead

Stay connected for news and updates

The Milwaukee Brewers hold a 4-3 lead on the Washington Nationals thanks to pitcher Zack Greinke. No, not necessarily with his arm, but rather, with his bat. Greinke hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to break a 3-3 deadlock, his first of the season.

Milwaukee had taken an early 3-0 lead with two runs in the bottom of the first inning and one in the bottom of the third. Prince Fielder lined a one-out double past center fielder Roger Bernadina in the first inning to score Corey Hart and Ryan Braun, then hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning to send Rickie Weeks home. But the Nationals tied the game in the top of the fourth inning when Michael Morse, mired in a slump for most of the year, smacked his fifth home run of the season, a three-run shot to bring home Jayson Werth and Laynce Nix.

Greinke and Nationals started Jason Marquis remain in the game in the middle of the sixth inning.
