Buster Posey's season-ending leg injury is a really bad thing for the San Francisco Giants. That said, it could provide an interesting opportunity for the Washington Nationals, at least if you believe former Nationals' general manager Jim Bowden.↵
Nats should offer Pudge to Giants and give at-bats to their young catchers↵
Setting aside the obvious awkwardness that always occurs when Bowden suggests personnel moves the Nationals should consider, it's not a bad idea if you think about it. The Giants are desperate, Rodridguez is a part-time player and Wilson Ramos has firmly established himself as a legitimate starting catcher in this league.↵
Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post has more on the Pudge-to-Giants trade idea. The key word is "idea," because there are no indications the Nationals and Giants have had discussions along these lines yet.
