Orioles Vs. Nationals: Washington Wins 7th Straight Game, Tops Orioles 8-4

Following a three-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Washington Nationals continue to roll. They defeated the Baltimore Orioles 7-4 tonight to kick off a series against the cross-town rivals. It was the team's seventh win in a row. Sean Burnett was credited as the winning bitcher.

Zach Britton started off the scoring for the Orioles in the top of the fourth inning with a double that would bring home Robert Andino. But the Nationals came back with a four-run fifth inning that couldn't have happened without an error from Orioles third baseman Mark Reynolds. Wilson Ramos scored from third base on the error that would also put Jason Marquis on base. Roger Bernadina, Ian Desmond, and Ryan Zimmerman all batted in runs in the fifth inning to put the Nationals on top.

The lead wouldn't last long though, as the Orioles came back to tie the game just minutes later. Vladimir Guerrero and J.J. Hardy would each get on the score sheet as the Orioles made the game 4-4.

The Nationals didn't waste any time before responding though. Jerry Hairston Jr.'s double in the sixth inning began a three-run burst for the Nats. They pulled ahead 7-4 and never looked back.
