As the Washington Nationals continue to add talent to their roster and sign players like Gio Gonzalez to big money deals, they also seem to be taking care of their own. Star third baseman Ryan Zimmerman and the Washington Nationals have begun talking about a new contract extension, according to William Ladson of MLB.com

Zimmerman has one of the top three contracts with the Nationals right now, currently on a five-year. $45 million deal. With the Nationals rumored to be the front runners for free agent first baseman Prince Fielder, signing Gonzalez, and now talking extension with Zimmerman they are clearly not shy about putting money back into the team.
