The Washington Nationals will host the Philadelphia Phillies in what will be the team's final series of the 2012 regular season
The Nationals hold a full three-game lead over the Atlanta Braves for first place in the NL East with three games remaining in the regular season. They will be looking to wrap up the division and can do so as early as Monday with a victory or with a Braves' loss.
If and when the Nationals clinch the division, manager Davey Johnson will need to decide whether it would be worth playing his starters for the remaining games in order to get the best record in the NL. The Nationals are currently tied with the Cincinnati Reds for the best record in the league.
The first game of the three-game set is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch from Nationals Park. John Lannan will take the ball for the Nationals and he will be opposed by Kyle Kendrick of the Phillies. Television coverage will be provided by MASN. Radio coverage will be on 106.7 The Fan, WFED 1500 and WHFS 1580.
