MLB Trade Rumors: Red Sox Make Trade Offer For Nationals' John Lannan

The Washington Nationals continue to shop starting pitcher John Lannan as Spring Training in Viera progresses. Initial reports indicated that the Nats had a steep asking price for Lannan, and preferred a haul of prospects in return for the lefty. Jim Bowden tweeted this afternoon that the Boston Red Sox have made an offer, but with few highly-touted prospects in their farm system, the Sox are still nowhere near what the Nats are looking for in return.

The original reports on MLB.com indicated that the Nationals are aggressively trying to trade Lannan before opening day in the three weeks.

We'll have much more on Spring Training here at SB Nation DC in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out SB Nation's Nationals blog, Federal Baseball, for more news and notes. And don't forget to visit Baseball Nation, the MLB hub of SB Nation for information from around the league.
