Nationals Spring Training 2012: Orioles Defeat Washington 12-3

The Washington Nationals fell to 5-13 overall in Spring Training with a 12-3 loss to the Balitmore Orioles today. Baltimore scored four runs in the third inning and five runs in the fifth inning to pull away. The victory improves the Orioles to 9-9.

Washington starter Edwin Jackson was roughed up in 3.2 innings. Jackson surrendered 11 hits and 10 runs (seven earned) while striking out four and walking two.

Catcher Matt Wieters did the majority of the damage for Balitmore. Wieters homered off Jackson in the third inning and finished the day 4-for-4 with six RBI. Designated hitter Wilson Betemit finished 3-for-3 with two RBI, two runs, and a walk.

Washington had only four hits in the game and also commited four errors. Catcher Wilson Ramos went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk.
