Washington Nationals closer Brad Lidge, who was sent to the disabled list last week, will have surgery to repair a hernia injury, according to Adam Kilgore of The Washington Post. It's unknown when he will be able to return to game action, but Kilgore reports he should be able to begin throwing again in three weeks. Via @AdamKilgoreWP:

Lidge has had an up-and-down season to say the least, but with Drew Storen already on the shelf, it's still a significant loss for Davey Johnson's bullpen. His replacement, Henry Rodriguez, blew a two-run lead in the bottom of the 9th on Saturday night against the Dodgers.
