Stay connected for news and updates

The Washington Nationals are tied with the Cincinnati Reds 1-1 after five innings on Saturday night. Thus far, the Nationals have been held to just three hits, but a fifth-inning homer from catcher Wilson Ramos evened the score at one apiece.

Cincinnati's sole run came in the bottom of the first inning when shortstop Brandon Phillips grounded out but scored leadoff hitter Zack Cozart.

Meanwhile, Jordan Zimmermann has kept the Reds' hitters at bay. The Washington starter has struck out eight batters over the five innings, giving up just one earned run on four hits and no walks.
