National Vs. Marlins: Washington Looking To Avoid South Florida Sweep

The Washington Nationals were riding high when they landed in South Beach for a series against the Miami Marlins. Washington had won six of its last games games. Suddenly, the Nationals are on the verge of being swept by the Marlins after blowing leads in the first two games of the series.

Marlins' starter Josh Johnson has never lost a game against the Nationals in his career. He owns a 7-0 record in 14 starts against Washington with a 3.14 ERA. This could be an opportune time for the Nationals to break that streak. Johnson brings a 4.87 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP into Wednesday game. He has steadied himself after an up and down April, but allowed nine hits and three earned runs in his last outing.

Making only his second appearance and first of the season for the Nationals is Chien-Ming Wang. He picked up the win with three innings of work against Atlanta over the weekend, allowing one run one three hits. Wang is recovered from his strained hamstring, and he replaces Ross Detwiler in the rotation.

Bryce Harper has the chance to extend his hitting streak to 10 games on Wednesday. The 19-year-old belted two home runs against the Braves, and hit a triple in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins.

The game starts at 7:10 p.m. Fans can tune in to the game on MASN 2.
