Stay connected for news and updates

Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos is lost for the 2012 campaign, having suffered a knee injury against the Cincinnati Reds during a mid-May game. Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post reports that Ramos has had surgery to repair the meniscus in the knee, but the 25-year-old now needs a second operation on his ACL:

Nationals catchers have not fared well this season. Ramos, obviously, is lost for the year, the youngster immediately brought up to replace him, Sandy Leon, has a sprained ankle and most recently Ramos' big league backup Jesus Flores was injured.
